Finding Your Passion

Hey y’all!
Letโs talk passion todayโno, not the steamy romance novel kind (though no judgment if thatโs your thing! Remember, I am the author of Graffiti Love Diaries https://a.co/d/7C5lFCf, and storylines heat up over there.) Iโm talking about that deep, soul-stirring passion that makes you jump out of bed in the morning, ready to take on the world. The kind of work that never feels like workโand sometimes has you, well, definitely me, feeling 80% UNBOTHERED but 20% guilty about making dollars doing something that comes so easily. But letโs be real: while chasing our passions sounds all dreamy and Instagram-worthy, the reality is a bit moreโฆ complicated. And by complicated, I mean itโs a rollercoaster of emotions, financial ups and downs, and the occasional โWTH?? Wait a minute, I made zero profit this month! ๐โ moment.
The Journey to Passion-Fueled Living
First things first: finding your passion is a journey, not a destination. Youโre not going to wake up one day with all the answers neatly packaged in a bow. Iโm in the thick of it right nowโnavigating the ups and downs, trying to balance my creative passions with the not-so-glamorous reality of paying bills. Some months, the financial side of things is… letโs say, โless than ideal.โ Other months? Well, letโs just say Iโm not exactly popping champagne.
No, those days are gone… for now. Until then, I’m enjoying lukewarm instant coffee from my cozy little nook.
“Do what you have to do, to do what you want to do!”

But hereโs the thingโeverything we do today is an investment in our future. We might not see the fruits of our labor instantly, but with patience, perseverance, the right people in your circle, and a dash of faith, they will come. Just like a well-cooked meal (you know, the kind that simmers on the stove for hours? Low and slow I call it), the good stuff takes time. So, if youโre in the same boatโstressed, broke – my bad – I mean, financially challenged, but oh-so-passionateโknow that youโre not alone. Weโre all cooking something up, and trust me, itโs going to be delicious.
Health First, Always
Now, while we’re out here hustling to make our dreams a reality, let’s not forget to take care of our most valuable assetโour health. Yes, passion projects are exciting, but they can also be exhausting. Burnout is real, folks, and itโs not pretty. Thatโs why I make it a point (I can’t lie. Literally yesterday, I had to force myself away from the computer to whoosah) to take health breaksโwhether it’s a quick walk, a stretch session, or just sitting quietly with my thoughts. Mindfulness and exercise aren’t just buzzwords; theyโre essential ingredients in the recipe for success. After all, health is wealth, right? What can we do without it?
When youโre feeling good physically and mentally, your passion shines even brighter. So, letโs make a pact: prioritize health first, and let everything else fall into place. Your future self will thank you.
Now for the Lonely Side of Passion
Okay, letโs address the elephant in the room: loneliness. When youโre deep in the trenches of pursuing your passion, it can get a little lonely. Sure, youโve got your dreams and your vision, but sometimes it feels like youโre on an island. Next week, weโll dive into this topicโhow to deal with the loneliness that often comes with passion-pursuing, and how to find your tribe along the way. Spoiler alert: Itโs possible to be both wildly independent and connected to others.
So, stick with me, my fellow dream chasers. Weโre on this journey together, and while itโs not always easy, itโs worth it. Remember, everything youโre doing today is an investment in your futureโno matter how tough it gets.
Until next time, take care of yourself, keep feeding that passion, and know that youโre not alone on this wild ride. Weโre out here, and weโre doing it!
With love and a healthy dose of the real Rain Rose.
See you next week,
xo
